OCCUPATIONAL
THERAPY IN-HOME ASSESSMENTS

Sometimes simple changes can make a profound difference in how
well a senior can manage at home.
As a collaborative venture with
Community House Calls, we work with seniors and those caring for
them to adapt their home environments and daily routines in ways
that will promote independence and maximize personal efficiency
and home safety.
Compass Care's Occupational
Therapist reviews a typical day in the life of each senior and
assesses where and how support is needed. Seniors and their caregivers
receive written recommendations on how to preserve energy and
simplify tasks by learning to manage daily living routines with
the help of:
- Adaptive and assistive equipment
- Rearranged and/or retrofitted home furnishings
- Safe and efficient body mechanic techniques
- Reorganization of commonly used items
for easy access
- Utilization of simple and personally tailored
reminders for daily tasks
Compass Care's In-Home Assessment focuses
primarily on the personal aspects of a senior's daily life, while
Community House Calls' Home Analysis and Safety Evaluation assesses
the structural living environment for adaptations that can help
seniors to continue living at home safely.
